Every writer on the medium is given ample space to write and publish himself or publish in a publication. But what is the main difference while writing and publishing on self or on a publication? This is a very basic question that arises in the mind of every new writer on the medium.

According to the medium help center, the guide about publication defines the medium Publications :
“Medium publications are shared spaces for stories written around a common theme or topic, usually by multiple authors.”
So this short definition of publication helps us to understand three main aspects related to medium publications.
- Shared spaces for stories provide everybody the opportunity to get reasonable space to write his or her story according to his own writing style.
- Stories were written about a common theme as we come across publications covering a specific topic i.e. history, science, and lifestyle
- Multiple authors contribute to publications and this helps us to interact with multiple minds and a variety of ideas.
